Why Spiritual Goals Are Important

IMG_1847.HEIC.jpg

Most of us have different types of goals in life. Some of us want to achieve better health, some of us want financial freedom.

When I went on a sacred pilgrimage around Bali, I went to a place known as the Gates of Heaven (the picture to the right). We were invited into the temple to pray and meditate with the High Priest and told us that this temple was the oldest temple in Bali, over 1,000 years old.

When we were praying and meditating, at the very end of the ceremony he asked us to “make a wish”. I didn’t realize how profound this whole experience would be until this moment. My wishes and prayers used to be of material things, to help me be successful, to grow my business, etc.

Something major shifted at this moment. I wished for peace and prosperity. I wished for more trust and faith. I wished for spiritual progression. I wished for spiritual ascension and growth. I wished ultimately to “surrender more deeply into You”. I was in tears as this poured through me (literally).

This was a massive shift in awareness and consciousness for me personally. My wishes became nothing of material nature. I was wishing for greater commitment to higher virtues and values. I was wishing for the things that truly matter, for the purification of my soul and its greater evolution.

Everyone has different beliefs and viewpoints. But all of us have the same purpose to achieve peace for our souls. The purpose of all Rishis (seekers) is Moksha (liberation).

If you want to become spiritually strong you have to decide the goal first. What is most important for you to experience? Where is your soul calling you? For instance, if you want to travel the world you have to decide the destinations first. You can be open-ended, flexible, and spontaneous, but you have to have a general idea or a loosely created plan so you can know where you’re going. You can’t just go without zero planning… trust me, I’ve done it, and while it’s definitely an adventure, it creates peace of mind to have some structure supporting your vision. It works the same for Spiritual goals. If you want to achieve a higher level of spirituality, you have to select goals to reach there.

The major reason to set spiritual goals is to get closer to Source, or God. Some people offer prayers, some go to church others and others go to religious events to get closer to God.

Knowing your why in everything you do will help you achieve your goals. Whether it’s of material, very physical dimension, or it’s wanting more contentment, peace, and enriching mystical experiences.

Benefits of Spirituality

Deeper Self Awareness

In the world of business, we spend most of our time in daily routines and social circles. We usually don’t pay attention to ourselves in the way we need to. We put our needs to the side and neglect the nurturing of our souls. When practicing meditation, yoga, or any other spiritual practice we need to have an intention. Having an intention is giving the spiritual practice a direction. It gives it momentum. This allows our spiritual goals to align with our inner, higher self. As this occurs, our progression will be met with something known as grace.

Create Deep Awareness About The World

As nobody has enough time to understand the world. We are all running like machines to achieve daily tasks. We don’t have time to think about this world from a different perspective. Having spiritual goals allow you to have a clear vision and see the world from a different perspective. It allows you to zoom out into the Meta field and see more clearly. And clarity = power.

Keep The Body & Soul Clean

The time we spend achieving spiritual goals nourishes our body, mind, and soul. It cleans us in all ways by using spiritual practices. It takes consistency and commitment. I cannot express this enough. All the results you seek are cumulative and the key is devotion. Our body is like a vehicle and we have to maintenance it and move the levers around a bit for it to function optimally. This is why we practice yoga, meditation and this was the intention behind creating the Yoga Stars platform. If you want to take a free class, come take one now!

Different Ways of Solving Life’s Problems

When we are attached to spiritual practices, we become more self-aware. This is truly the only beneficial attachment that exists! Some solutions need divine powers. When we become spiritually aware we find new ways of getting our problems solved. It activates our potential and our intuition so we can receive the messages clearly from above. It gives us more clarity around the pros and cons of a situation and we can make decisions more well-rounded and with less regret.

Setting Spiritual Goals

Setting spiritual goals will help you to achieve your ultimate goals. So often in life, we have massive dreams and ambitions for ourselves. But we need our Self part of the process or we burn out or become a power-hungry egomaniac. Without Source steering you in the right direction, without consulting with Source on a daily basis, reaching success in both the material and nonphysical world will be a constant challenge.

Know your Spiritual Goals Definition

Everyone has their own definition of spirituality. Some of us want to achieve a higher level of religious piousness. Some of us think spirituality is helping poor and sick people of society. Some of us believe getting a higher level of consciousness is spirituality.

Take some time to figure out the best meaning of spirituality for you. Listen to your heart for better results and a clear understanding of spirituality.

Definition and clarity of spirituality for you is the first step towards setting clear goals.

Find the Gap In Your Spirituality

Simply find the gap in your spiritual practices to make a clear vision and goal(s) for authentic spiritual progression. For example, if you are not offering prayers on daily basis and you want to perform them daily. This is the Gap for you to fill in spirituality.

Prioritize Spiritual Practices

If you want to perform daily spiritual practices like offering prayers, helping others, performing yoga, or meditations. Create a clear vision for your practices. These essential tasks will become your spiritual goals. Again, when you know your WHY, everything becomes easier.

Create Goals

When you have decided on your essential daily practices make them your goals. The difference between your desire and goals will be your priority over other tasks. You’ve got to prefer your spiritual goals over any other practice and desire.

Prioritize Your Major Goals

When you have decided your goals, now it’s time to arrange your goals according to your priority. Do not leave all your goals without arrangement.

Be Specific

When you are setting goals keep in mind that you have to be specific. Do not set random goals. Specific goals will help you to achieve them easily. If you select random goals you will not be able to follow them properly.

Be Honest

If you are setting goals, be clear and honest with yourself. Take some time before setting goals. Clear your mind, clear your vision and set specific goals for better practices. Come take a class with us on Yoga Stars before and then get to goal setting when you are refreshed and clear after practicing! :)

Examples of Spiritual Goals

IMG_2453.HEIC.jpg

Spiritual goals are about understanding your weakness and turning them into strengths. Its also about knowing your strengths and using them to your advantage! We all have both and its up to us to figure out our own labyrinth and matrix to maximize our potential. If you need help doing this, let’s get on a coaching call today! Your purpose means you are living a meaningful life.

These are few examples of spiritual goals:

1) Kindness

According to the dictionary kindness means that “the quality of being helpful, generous, and thoughtful”.

But there are more meanings of kindness. The meaning of kindness is different for everyone. Kindness is more than being nice to someone. Kindness is a movement from person to person, kindness is love. Kindness is being selfless, soft-hearted, caring, and deeply compassionate to all beings.

2) Gratitude

IMG_2508.HEIC.jpg

Gratitude is the best method for people to consider things and appreciate what they have in their life. People always search for something new in their life and think that will make them happy, but unfortunately, they don’t feel satisfied. Gratitude helps immensely to manifest more blissful things, people, and experiences into your life.

When we are spiritually calm, it allows us to refocus on what we have in our lives instead of what don’t have. Always count your blessing. If you need help with your spiritual practice, the first thing I recommend is to sit down and think about your blessings. Make it a habit to write down the blessings and gifts you received every single day - no matter what!

Make it a habit to thank people who have done something nice to you. Think about their good deeds and produce positive vibes for your surroundings.

Then, you can meditate on this gratitude and feel your heart start to overflow with positivity.

3) Sacred Pilgrimages & Adventures

Sacred pilgrimages are a must once you start to advance along your sacred spiritual journey. Going to sacred sites are powerful because they have many years of devotion, intention, and prayers infused into the pyramid, temple/sacred site. It’s something very powerful and activating for the soul, giving your more spiritual fortitude, mental strength, emotional intelligence, and an incredibly blissful connection to your soul.
